Eminent APC chieftain, Olatunji Bello, has urged the Nigerian Muslim community, including the generality of Nigerians, both within the country and the diaspora irrespective of faith, to harness the auspicious occasion of the Sallah festivity to pray for the nation’s leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the success of his incumbent administration at the helm of political governance.

In a goodwill message issued on his behalf,by his Special Assistant on Politics, Alhaji Ibrahim Alao Megida, Bello noted that Tinubu has started on a commendably impressive note, adding that his deft move in the realm of economic diplomacy, will soon turn Nigeria to a vigorous hub of foreign investment, with the salutary multiplier effects of mass employment, industrial breakthrough, and economic self-reliance,which would usher an auspicious departure from the contemporary dire strait in which it had iredeemably languished over the past decades.

Bello

He described Tinubu as a rare breed of the human specie and a special gift to Nigeria, whose type rarely comes in a generation,in view of his uncommon talents and endowment which places him shoulder high above his peers, and therefore ranks him not only as the best, but also the most competent to turn around the situation of things, particularly during the critical down-turn currently prevalent in the nation’s economy.

“Every phase of his trajectory in life, from the corporate turf to the larger turbulent sphere of Politics, and his amazing ability to turn around the situation of things, from the iredeemable jaws of impossibility, are clear and ample testimonies to his prodigious genius and uncommon ability”,said Bello.

“They go further to pinpoint Asiwaju’s divinely ordained destiny as a man after the heart of Allah, whom Allah has chosen as the Messiah to turn around the critical conundrum in the political, social and economic life of the nation, around for the better”.

“His heroic struggle for liberty beginning from the impasse of the June 12 annulment, both in his native Nigeria and later in exile, his refusal to romance with the Abacha military administration, while the mass of his contemporaries, who are still very much around now, were falling headlong over one another as Abacha’s fanatical acolytes and foot soldiers, coupled with his refusal to take recourse to his old plum job reserved for him at Mobil, but rather chose to contend with the harrowing uncertainties of life in exile, and further going along to emerge as the highest spender in the monetary funding of the struggle, added to his immense assistance in paying salaries of media workers back home in Nigeria, and even providing for the daily running capital of their organisations, despite the fact that he had no shares whatsoever in their companies, all contribute to underscore his heroic feat in sacrificial altruism.”

“In such harrowing situation, others would have cursed the day they ventured into politics, considering the uncertain future, and the fact that Abacha’s government had possibly come to stay for ever.In the face of the bleak prospect, they would have quickly retreated to grab their job,if not renege in tragic compromise with Abacha, but Asiwaju would have none of that,he would rather not blink an eye, before retreating for a renewed phase of struggle in exile, sacrificing his brain, time, and hard earned money,to assist the financially incapacitated exiles, quartering them in his apartment, while providing funds for the existential survival of media houses back home in Nigeria,in order to continue to champion the struggle.”

It need be noted that at this point in time, Asiwaju had barely served more than two years, let alone a whole tenure,as a senator, and even then lawmakers were not smiling home with the windfall of emoluments enjoyed by the contemporary generation of their later colleagues.”

“From exile, following the demise of Abacha, and the expiration of his military regime,Asiwaju returned to Nigeria, and later became a popularly elected governor of Lagos State, recording landmark achievements, which remain hitherto unmat ched let alone surpassed across the entire federation.”

“However, despite his immense achievements as governor, coupled with his heroic role as leader of opposition and arrow-head of the Progressive Bloc, Asiwaju would exercise matured restraint by refusing to declare for presidency, but rather offered an unflinching loyal support to the likes of Falae, Atiku,Ribadu and lately Buhari, who after previously failed attempts, eventually emerged as president under the aegis of the APC,having achieved an unprecedented feat which for the first time in the annals of Nigerian history, which saw an incumbent administration dethroned by the opposition”.

“The whole lots of these narratives are ample testimonies to Asiwaju’s sense of sacrificial self-denial, as a man who sincerely places the interest of the nation uppermost and self-interest last, and a beloved man after God’s heart, with an amazing Midas touch, that had seen him record spectacular success es in whatever he dabbled into, and victory in the face of the most daunting obstacles”

“Asiwaju has indeed paid his dues,he has built bridges, across tribes, ethnic groups, religions and diverse social forces,he is the link between the rich and poor, the champion of the downtrodden,he is the pivot around which the contemporary Fourth-Republic revolves and indeed the main factor in the contemporary politics of the Fourth-Republic.All along, especially during the primaries, and the election proper, nobody gave him a chance.Even after he had won,his Adversaries in the reactionary Bloc were still adamant that he will loose out at the tribunal, but the rest today,is history. Therefore, those who labour against him only labour in vain.”

Asiwaju deserves our prayers because he is the one God has chosen, the most experienced and most competent. What he achieved in his historic moment as governor,he will not only achieve,as president,he will even go farther more in surpassing expectations, and dashing the mischievous expectations of cynics and his envious traducers,he will surely pilot our great nation to the cherished vision of our departed founding fathers”,Bello affirmed in undoubted optimisim.
