President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Bola Oyebamiji on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, urging him to ensure victory for the party at the poll.

Oyebamiji emerged on Saturday at the party’s primary election held in Osogbo.

Presidential spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja.

Oyebamiji and Tinubu

Tinubu emphasised the need for the APC candidate to work towards reclaiming Osun for the progressives’ fold in the 2026 governorship election.

The president praised the Osun APC for the unity and reconciliation that characterised the primary election conducted through affirmation.

He commended all the aspirants who stepped down in support of Oyebamiji, describing the gesture as a demonstration of party loyalty and commitment.

Tinubu urged Oyebamiji to be magnanimous in victory by embracing party leaders and former aspirants to sustain cohesion.

“The journey to reclaim Osun for the progressives’ fold in the 2026 governorship election has begun.

“I urge all the members and leaders of APC in the state to remain focused, united and resolute.

“Victory is achievable, and together, we will succeed,” he said.

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State chaired the primary election, where the cheerful delegates unanimously affirmed Oyebamiji’s candidature.
