President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to ensure that kidnapping of students in schools stopped henceforth.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, disclosed this at the End of Year Media Conference in Abuja on Monday.
Idris commended the President and all the security agencies on the recent rescued of the remaining 130 children and staff from St. Mary’s Catholic School, Papiri in Niger State.
The minister also recalled that abducted church members in Kwara State had since been reunited with their families, adding that those in Kebbi State have also been reunited with their families.
“Let me reassure you that President Bola Tinubu has given a charge to the security agencies to ensure that this does not happen again.
“And where it unfortunately happened, there will be full disclosure and a swift response to ensure that no one goes away with any kidnapped member of the Nigerian society,” Idris said.
“In this joyous season, the Federal Government has empathised with the parents of the pupils for the anguish that this abduction has caused them.”
Idris also wished them a pleasant family reunion, good healing process, compliments of the season and Merry Christmas to all of them.
