President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of the tenure of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, to June 30, 2028.

He also extended the tenure of the Controller-General of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Sylvester Nwakuche, to May 2028.

This is contained in a statement by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga on Monday in Abuja.

Tinubu nominated Kemi Nandap as the Comptroller-General of the NIS on February 21, 2024 and the Senate confirmed the appointment on March 1, 2024.

According to Onanuga, the approval followed a recommendation by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to address the succession gap in both services and allow the board enough time to appoint successors.

Onanuga quoted President Tinubu as commending Nandap and Nwakuche and for the reforms achieved under their leadership and charged them to consolidate these gains.
