It was a bloody day in Anambra State on Wednesday as gunmen attacked a campaign rally of former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof. Charles Soludo.
Soludo is a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 6 election in the South-East state.

The attack, which took place in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, left three policemen attached to Soludo dead.
Commissioner for Public Utilities, Emeka Ezenwanne, was abducted by the gunmen.

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sunday Kuryas, confirmed the killings and abduction.
He said the gunmen stormed Isuofia Townhall where Soludo was having a meeting with youths of the community.
The police commissioner assured residents of the state that every detail about the incident would be made public.
Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said policemen “are on the trail of the gunmen”.
