Third term Senator laid to rest

Three term Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Sen. Abubakar Danso Sodangi, has been laid to rest in his country home, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

 

Sen. Sodangi APC-Nasarawa) served for three consecutive times as Senator from 1999 to 2011.

 

Gov. Abdullahi Sule on Monday in Nasarawa, during the funeral rites of Sodangi, urged his family and the people of Nasarawa Local Government Area to take solace in God.

 

He said that God gives life and takes at will while urging them to see Sen. Sodangi’s death as the will of God.

 

The governor condoled the Emir of Nasarawa, Alhaji Ibrahim Jibrin and the entire Nasarawa LGA over the demise and prayed God to forgive his shortcoming and grant him Aljanatu Firdausi.

 

Also, Mr Danladi Jatau, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, said the death of Sodangi was a great loss to the entire state and the country at large.

 

“On behalf of myself, family, principal officers and staff of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, I condole with the family and the entire state over the death of Sen. Abubakar Sodangi.

 

“Sodangi has represented us well while in the National Assembly. He has contributed a lot to the development of the state and the country at large,” he said.

 

The speaker urged the family to take solace in God.

 

Earlier, Mallam Yahaya Danbaba, the Chief Imam of Nasarawa Central Mosque, while performing the funeral rite, urged Muslims and other Nigerians to live life worthy of emulation while on earth.

 

Sodangi died on Sunday night at the aged of 70 and before his death, he was the former Chairman, Gov. A. A. Sule Campaign Council in 2023.
