Taribo begs NFF to keep Eaglets’ talents, zeal alive

taribo_westTaribo West, an ex-football international, on Wednesday said that the Golden Eaglets had the talent and zeal to make Nigeria proud, and must be provided with a structure to develop.

West told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone that the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) should provide the structure to keep the talents alive.

He was reacting to Nigeria’s 4-1 victory over Iran to qualify for the quarterfinals of the FIFA Under 17 World Cup going on in the United Arab Emirates.

“The NFF does not have a structure that supports football development. It is sad that we may never hear anything about these boys again.

“One will naturally expect them to proceed to U-20, but you will be shocked that none of them will make it to U-20.

“This attitude cannot help football development,’’ West said

Nigeria will play against Uruguay in a quarterfinal match on Saturday.

The competition which began on Oct. 17 will end on Nov. 8.
