Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has promised to take urgent step to flush out ghost workers from the state’s civil service.
The governor made the promise on Thursday in Sokoto when he received members of various trade unions under the umbrella of the state chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC).
The members were on a solidarity demonstration in support of the fight against corruption being championed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Tambuwal urged labour in the state to support the move by his administration to ensure prudent management of public resources and ensure punctuality in the civil service.

He said that his administration would team up with Buhari to fight corruption, adding that the President had the vision to improve the living standard of Nigerians.

The governor urged labour to key into the fight against corruption.

Earlier in his remark, Malam Aminu Umar, NLC chairman in state, said they were in Government House to show their solidarity and reaffirm their support for the ongoing fight against corruption.

He recalled that Tambuwal played key role in fighting against corruption when he was Speaker of the House of Representatives.

He urged the governor to continue his good work aimed at improving the living standard of people of the state and Nigeria in general.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of a solidarity letter to Buhari through Tambuwal.
