Mr Zephaniah Jisalo, the Minister for Special Duties, is expected to serve as a special guest at the maiden Lottery and Gaming Conference scheduled for between Oct. 31 and Nov.1 at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Mr Lanre Gbajabiamila, the Director- General of National Lottery Regulatory Commission, said this in statement signed by Mr Magnus Ekechukwu, the commission’s Deputy Director, Public Affairs on Saturday in Abuja.
Gbajabiamila said that Mr Sam Awulu, the Director-General of National Lottery Authority, Ghana, would deliver the keynote address at the conference scheduled to be attended by notable stakeholders, operators and players in the industry in Nigeria.
He said that participants were also expected from the U.S, the UK, South Africa, Botswana, Ghana and other countries.
Gbajabiamila said that the elevation of the gaming conference which commenced in 2021 to an international standard was in consonance with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
This, it said, was especially as it was hinged on higher effectiveness at all sectors of government for greater governance, improved resources and better life for all Nigerians.
He said the commission was committed to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, adding that it would spare no efforts in its determination to make lottery a major revenue earner for the country.
Since assuming office, Gbajabiamila had grown the country’s lottery industry with greater impact in its regulatory mandate and generating more funds into government’s coffers by hitting the over N1 billion Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) mark.
Eminent scholars, including Prof. Rachel Volberg of University of Massachusetts Amherst, U.S were expected to make presentations at the conference.
The event will be rounded off on Nov.1, with a Gala Night and award presentations to outstanding operators and players in the lottery industry.
