Soldiers, on Wednesday, in Lokoja, continued to keep vigil on the Kogi State House of Assembly Complex, although their mission remained unknown.
The soldiers, who had on Tuesday, arrived at the complex, were still occupying the premises as at the time of this report on Wednesday.
However, only a few soldiers were seen at the premises of the Assembly unlike no fewer than 20 of them, who besieged the hallowed chamber on Tuesday.
The presence of the soldiers scared workers of the Assembly, even as some of them said that they had to return home, as they could not enter into their various offices.
Also, a number of policemen took positions at the police outpost, close to the main gate of the Assembly complex.
One of the staff said that they could not understand the presence of the soldiers in the House.
Also, lawmakers belonging to the two factions in the House did not turn up for plenary on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the soldiers had allegedly prevented the Speaker, Alhaji Momoh Lawal and 14 lawmakers from entering the House to hold the plenary.
However, five other lawmakers in company with the factional Speaker, Mr Umar Imam, did enter the House for the plenary.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Usman Yakubu, when contacted, said that the House had been peaceful but expressed surprise that soldiers were still occupying the place.
