Former Governor of Ogun State and foremost aspirant for the office of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has congratulated the Super Eagles, the technical crew and Nigerians on the qualification for the World Cup to be hosted by Russia in 2018.
In a statement by Ayo Giwa, his Media Officer, Daniel commended the technical superiority of the national team and the spirit of patriotism exhibited by the players in qualifying the country for the soccer mundial the sixth time.
Daniel, who is the Grand Patron of Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria, also charged them to do the nation proud in the World Cup as the hope of the continent lifting the coveted trophy rests on Nigeria as the foremost football-loving nation in Africa.
He also enjoined Nigerians to be united in their support towards projecting Nigeria’s image as exhibited in their altruism since the campaign for the World Cup ticket started.
