Six people, 20 cows killed in Adamawa auto accident

nyako_murtalaSix people and 20 cows died in an auto crash on Wednesday on the Yola-Mayo-Belwa highway in Adamawa.

The accident occurred at about 5 p.m on Wednesday when a vehicle with registration number XA 753 MUB conveying cattle from Adamawa to Abia lost control and entered the bush.

An eyewitness, Malam Haruna Hamma, said the driver lost control when one of the tyres of the vehicle burst and killed six people, including the driver.

He said that 20 cows were also killed while five were slaughtered before they died.

Mohammed Kaigama, The Head of Operation of the Yola Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission Mr Mohammed Kaigama, confirmed the incident, saying that the victims had been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Yola.

Kaigama said that a patrol team from the command stationed on the Yola-Mayo-Belwa highway had reported the accident, noting that the officers reported to the scene of the accident in good time.
