Six Lagos chiefs dethroned for attending Labour Party rally (see names)

For attending a Labour Party (LP) rally, six chiefs in Lagos State have been dethroned.
They are Chief Taiwo Hassan (Bale Oke Ira), Chief Saliu Biliamin (Bale Alafia Dodoro), Chief Lateef Ojora (Bale Alaba Oro), Chief Idris Ojora (Bale Abule Kere), Chief Sule Balogun (Balogun of Abule Kere) and Chief Hakeem Oseni (Bale Mosafejo Amukoko).
The Ojora of Ijora and Iganmu Kingdom, Oba AbdulFatai Oyegbemi, took the decision to dethrone the six chiefs on Monday.
To the monarch, the chiefs attended the campaign flag-off of LP in Apapa, ahead of the local government polls scheduled for July 12 without his consent.
When he heard that they attended the partisan meeting, the monarch summoned them to the palace and made it clear that they went for the event without royal authorisation.
He also accused them of violating palace protocols by impersonating him at the event.
In a statement, Oba Oyegbemi explained that he dethroned the six chiefs in a bid to maintain “order and coherence within his leadership structure”.
