Why is the Kremlin goon squad halted and hindered at the gates of Kiev ? In classical military principle there is what is known as the Economy of Force as enunciated by Carl von Clausewitz, the Prussian General and military strategist who proclaimed the nine principles of warfare.
The Economy of Force is simply the allocation of the maximum military assets to a premium priority. The problem with this principle inheres in the irresistible force that may counterpoint its effectiveness. When this occurs as it is now happening in Ukraine, the principle withers, dissipated, forfeited amid the overwhelming resistance of the opposing foe. In this instance , about 70,000 of Kremlin’s 170,000 troops are flung against Kiev alone in a deliberate attempt for quick , swift overrun. It never happened. Putin was backing on a quick dissipation and surrender.
Now his assets are wasted as Ukrainians are roused in patriotic defiance against the aggressors. Putin is now forced to bring in more troops . His supply lines are thin, porous, ill-defined. His soldiery is slowed, demoralized against patriots fighting for their nation , their destiny and hard won liberty that cannot be crushed by any artillery fire.
Again, Putin is Toast. Once matters degenerate further, there will be a scramble in the Kremlin to remove the delusional tyrant.
