A sexagenarian, Saka Olainukan, was on Wednesday brought before an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly beating  his wife to death.
Olainukan, 60, whose plea was not taken appeared on a charge of murder.
Magistrate Tolu Idowu ordered that Olainukan should be remanded at the Ikoyi Prisons, pending an advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.
Earlier, Sergeant Jimah Iseghede told court that the accused committed the offences on July 21 at 3. 30 a.m. at No. 10, Razak St., Ajegunle, Lagos.
He alleged that the accused had beaten his younger wife Mekuleyi Mekuleyi, 36, to death for being troublesome and promiscuous.
The offences contravened Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 which stipulates a death sentence for offenders.
The matter was adjourned until October 30.
