Seven governors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday broke out of the party to form a new party which the tagged ‘Factional PDP’.
Also party of the new party are former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar; former Kwara State governor, Bukola Saraki; and former Osun State governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
The seven governors are Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto, Rabiu Kwakwanso of Kano, Murtala Nyako of Adamawa, Sule Lamido of Jigawa, Babangida Aliyu of Niger, Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara and Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers.
The new party was announced shortly after five of the governors on Saturday stormed out the PDP Special National Convention.
