Re-Kashamu/Adebutu parley: A plea to political gladiators not to politicise straightforward matter, by Olayinka Ilebiyi

Kashamu

Former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State and former Senator representing Ogun East in the National Assembly, Buruji Kashamu, is dead.
He died on Saturday at the First Cardiology Consultants Hospital in Lagos.
His friend and former colleague at the Upper Chamber, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, confirmed on Twitter.
Murray-Bruce wrote: “I have just lost my good friend of forever to #COVID19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss”.
Kashamu, the founder of Western Lotto Limited, served as the senator in the eighth National Assembly.
Meanwhile, former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has mourned Kashamu.
In a statement, he said:
“Any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind…”- John Donne

I received with shock the news of the death of Senator Buruji Kasamu, who represented the Ogun East Senatorial District in the Red Chambers between 2015 and 2019.

I picked a Timeless lesson of how transient life can be from this sad occurrence. I am glad despite all our years of political disagreements, conflicts and turbulence, by the hands of Providence, my heart found a rare opportunity of forgiving and making up with him before his untimely death.

I pray for his repose to find peace with his Maker and for his family to find the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”.
