The Senate on Thursday adjourned plenary without considering any motion or bill after failing to form a quorum.
The rules of the Senate stipulate that a third of the members is necessary to form a quorum for plenary.
With 109 senators, the Senate needs 37 members to sit but the figure was less when all members present took their seats.
After considering the proceedings of Wednesday, Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume, moved that plenary be adjourned to the next legislative day.
The senate thereafter adjourned plenary to Thursday, May 12.
No reason was given for the low turnout but a source said that PDP senators’ involvement in their party’s Local Government Congresses on Thursday might have affected the attendance.
