Segun Oni’s convoy attacked in Ekiti

Oni: I want to return to Govt House to rescue Ekiti from total collapse

Oni

I wish to report that several armed political thugs sponsored by the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) attacked the convoy of the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP,) Chief Segun Oni, on his way to hold a Town Hall meeting in Efon LGA and caused serious psychological and bodily injuries to members of the entourage.
In addition, several vehicles on the entourage were damaged.
It is instructive to note that the Campaign Organization had formally written and obtained approval from the police in respect of the meeting and requested to be protected during the Town Hall meeting and yet, some hoodlums went ahead to carry out unprovoked attacks.

It is important to emphasize that nobody or any political party has a monopoly of violence. Therefore the campaign organisation will not hesitate to defend its principal and members if and when such attack is repeated.

The security agencies are hereby requested to expedite action on unmasking the brain behind the dastardly act and be brought to book in order to face the full wrath of the law and thus serve as deterrent.

Amb. Dare Bejide,
Director General,
Segun Oni Campaign Organisation
