Security forces have discovered a weapon cache containing arms and ammunition from Afghanistan’s western Nimroz province, Provincial Police Chief, Sardar Mohammad Ayubi, said on Monday.
The weapon cache included 13 pieces of assault rifles, four sets of walkie-talkies and 9,000 rounds of bullets, the official said.
It added that the operations to collect weapons from irresponsible persons would continue.
The security forces of the Taliban-led caretaker government have launched operations elsewhere, including the capital city Kabul to collect weapons from irresponsible armed men throughout the war-torn country.
Thousands of pieces of weapons have been collected from eastern Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar and Nuristan provinces over the past four months, security officials said.
