Secondus: Atiku unstoppable

Lagos PDP rally

National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, on Tuesday, said the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, was sure to win the election on Saturday.
Speaking at the party’s presidential rally in Lagos, Secondus said the PDP candidate was unstoppable.
He said the masses were tired with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to move the country forward.
Secondus added that Nigerians and foreigners interested in well-being of the country had rejected the APC for Atiku.
The party chairman said that the groundswell of support Atiku had received from Nigerians all over the country, especially at campaign rallies, was a clear indication that he would win.
“Atiku is the next president, he is unstoppable, even the APC has now realised that.
“We were in Kano, Kano was locked down. We were in Katsina, Katsina was locked down, we were in Zamfara, Zamfara was locked down. We are winning the North-West.
“South South, we were there yesterday in Port-Harcourt, it was locked down. Everybody, both local and international is waiting for President Atiku to be next president of Nigeria.
”We are gaining momentum to win the election and that is why APC is afraid and desperate,“ he said.
Secondus said the deployment of police chiefs ahead of elections to states like Lagos, Kwara was an act of desperation by the present APC government.
He alleged that the deployment of new Commissioners of Police to the affected states was done to manipulate the outcome of the elections.
Secondus, however, said the PDP would resist any plots to change the will of the people.
Secondus said Nigerians, particularly Lagos residents could trust in the capacity to revamp the economy and create jobs.
”Since the Buhari administration came in, there has been go-slow in Lagos.
”But I have good news for you: Come this Saturday, a man that has been tried and tested both in the private and public sector, a man of full energy and competence will come to rescue Nigeria.
”He would provide employments to all of you, especially the youths, he would create jobs, he would open all the closed companies and businesses.
”Our financial aspiration would boom again, he would bring prosperity to the land, especially Lagos and Lagos will regain its freedom,” he said.
He declared Mr Jimi Agbaje, the party governorship candidate in the state as a man of capacity and that he would deliver when elected.
The party chairman said voting the PDP candidate on March 2, was a sure way to deliver real governance and free the state from bondage.
The South West Co-ordinator of Atiku Campaign Organisation and a former governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayo Fayose, said he had no doubts that the people had settled for Atiku and would vote him on Saturday.
A former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Chief Olabode George, also urged Lagos residents to vote for Atiku on Saturday for the desired change.
Other prominent personalities at the rally included Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, Atiku ‘s running mate, Mr Peter Obi, a former governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada (rtd and a former Ogun State governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
Titi, Atiku’s wife, led thousands of women to the rally.
