Scores killed, property destroyed in farmers/herders clash

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Dankombo Morris, has deployed more operatives to restore normalcy and arrest perpetrators over farmers/herders clash in the state.

SP Suleiman Nguroje, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, said the clash occurred at Kukta, Waltandi district, Song Local Government area of the state.

He stated that the clash, which occurred on Sunday morning, resulted in loss of lives and destruction of property.

“The CP has ordered the Homicide Section of the State CID, Yola, to embark on a detailed and comprehensive investigation into the alleged clash.

“He is deeply saddened by this unfortunate event as he acknowledges the profound grief and loss caused by this unfortunate act. He reassures the government and good people of the council that the perpetrators will be brought to Justice.

“The CP directs officers deployed to immediately bring perpetrators to book,” he stated.
A source said that scores of farmers, herders and villagers died in the clash.
