Scores injured, vehicles damaged as youths attack Al-Makura’s convoy

It was total confusion in Gruku, Nasarawa State on Friday as some angry youths attacked the convoy of Governor Tanko Al-Makura.
The governor was returning from the installation of the traditional ruler of Gurku chiefdom, Gurku
Jibrin Waziri, when the incident happened.
Scores were injured and vehicles damaged as the youth pelted the convoy with stones and sticks.
Security agents fired tear gas to scare them away, leading to pandemonium.
The Governor’s Office Press Crew bus and another vehicle in the convoy were damaged.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ugochukwu Theodore, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), confirmed the incident.
He said: “The information at our disposal reveals that the
back windscreen of the Governor’s Press Crew bus was damaged. No arrest has been made but investigation is going on”.
