Saraki, Yahaya Bello condole with Melaye over mother’s death

Melaye

Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, on Friday, commiserated with Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, over the death of his mother, Mrs Comfort Melaye.
Saraki, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, described Mrs Melaye as a worthy matriarch who bequeathed her generation with Godly and respectable children.
The deceased, whose death was announced on Thursday, was a deaconess.
According to the Senate President, the late Madam Melaye will be remembered for her philanthropy, good nature and exemplification of the core Christian values.
He urged Melaye and all members of his family to take solace in the fact that their mother lived a good life and left a legacy of true and humane values in all her children.
“On behalf of my family and the entire 8th Senate, my heart goes out to Sen. Dino Melaye and his family in this moment of grief.
“I pray that the Almighty grants our departed mother eternal rest, and her family and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this significant loss, ” he said.
Also, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State commiserated with the senator.
In a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Onogwu Muhammed, in Lokoja, Bello described the news of Melaye’s mother’s death as “a rude shock and great loss not only to Kogi but Nigeria in general, given her invaluable contributions to the cause of humanity.”
According to the governor, Mrs Melaye was a quintessential mother, devout Christian and community leader who devoted her lifetime to the service of God and humanity.
”Words are insufficient to condole one on a mother’s death, but I do urge you to take solace in the life that she lived.
”I have no doubt that Mama’s impact and reach will continue to be felt through her offspring.
”On behalf of the great people of Kogi, my family and myself, I offer you our deep condolences,” he said.
Bello prayed the Almighty God to grant the senator and the rest of the Melaye’s family the grace to endure the irreparable loss, while urging the family to keep the state government notified of her funeral plans.
