Former governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki, has warned the Federal Government of the implication of removing the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, a few days to the election.
To him, such an action will lead to credibility crisis.
Saraki, leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, said the sanctity of the office of INEC Chairman must be respected by the political class.
He spoke during APC rally in Baruten Local Government, just as Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed urged the Federal Government not to stampede Jega from office.
Ahmed, the APC governorship candidate in the April 11 election, promised that if re-elected, his administration would upscale the provision of infrastructure and human capital development in all parts of the North-Central state.
The governor, who appreciated the massive turn-out at the campaign, said his administration has, in the last four years, ensured rural development, promoted youth employment through various entrepreneurship development initiatives as well as small and medium enterprises development financing.
