Two South-West Governors, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State are expected to lead the team of distinguished personalities to the 2022 Alumni Luncheon of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association.
The National Chairman of the University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UNILAGFEAA), Engr Dideolu Falobi, made this known in a statement, adding that the event is scheduled to hold on May, 5, 2022 at Raddison Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State by 10am
He said the theme of the lecture is “Lagos Mass Transit Project: The journey so far and Investment Opportunities” which is to be delivered by the Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Engr. Abimbola Akinajo.
Falobi explained that the event is being held under the auspices of the Special Projects Committee of the Association which has been saddled with the delivery of strategic projects identified by the faculty.
‘Some of the projects include the upgrade of existing laboratories and learning facilities, vertical extension of three office blocks which would provide 12 office spaces for lecturers, vertical extension of four existing classroom blocks which will provide 116 classroom seats for students and a new two level building that will consist of a Wi-Fi enabled study centre and 60-seater restaurant among others’, he added.
The statement called on all alumni of the engineering faculty of the university to be in attendance, emphasisng that, the event promises to be a veritable networking opportunity, a reunion of sorts and an avenue to give back to alma mater.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the body also disclosed that, the Governors are alumni of the Faculty, adding that former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who is also a distinguished alumnus is scheduled to be the Chairman at the occasion.
