Raymond Dokpesi

The absence of the prosecution at the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday, stalled the trial of Raymond Dokpesi, Chairman eEmeritus of DAAR Communications.
At the resumed hearing, the prosecution, Mr Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), wrote a letter informing the court that he had another matter at the Supreme Court.
The defence counsel, Mr Wale Olanipekun (SAN), confirmed receiving a letter indicating that Jacobs sought for an adjournment.
Olanipekun asked the court for enough time to enable Jacobs, who is the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) counsel to adjust his other cases.
He made particular reference to the case Jacobs was handling at the Code of Conduct Tribunal which was holding daily.
The trial had previously been adjourned at the instance of the prosecution, having filed an additional proof of evidences.
Dokpesi was dragged to court by the EFCC over an alleged N2.1 billion corruption charge.
The judge, Justice John Tsoho, adjourned the case till June 15.
