Rochas Okorocha arrested

Former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, was arrested on Sunday after he dared Governor Hope Uzodimma to reopen the Royal Spring Palm Apartment sealed by the state government.

Accompanied by his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, and others, Okorocha, who has been having a running battle with Uzodimma, broke the keys to recover the estate belonging to his wife, Nkechi.
Also arrested were Ijeoma Igboanusi and Lasbrey Okafor-Anyanwu.

Igboanusi was the deputy chief of staff (Domestics) while Okafor-Anyanwu was the Commissioner for Transportation in Okorocha’s administration.
They are being detained at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the State Police Command in Owerri.
Some thugs who allegedly followed Okorocha for the operation were also arrested.

Some government vehicles were vandalised in the fracas.
Freedom Online learned that one person was injured when Okorocha and his loyalists forcefully opened the apartment.
Drenched in his blood, he was later taken to hospital for urgent medical attention.
The state government, on Friday, recovered the apartment along Akachi road.

The seizure, according to the team led by Commissioner for Lands, Enyinnaya Onuegbu, was in compliance with a directive of the Imo State gazette on the report of the Judicial Commission of Enquiry on recovery of Lands and other related matters.
