The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has urged Ohaneze Ndigbo to avoid provocative statements, that would bring another round of tense politics in Rivers.

Mr Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, National Publicity Secretary, INC Worldwide said this on Monday in a statement made available to our Correspondent in Asaba.

Oyakemeagbegha was reacting to a publication in a section of the media credited to Ohaneze Ndigbo backing the 27 lawmakers, who have forfeited their seats, arising from their cross-carpeting to another party.

“The attention of the leadership of INC Worldwide has been drawn to an online publication credited to Ohaneze Ndigbo backing the 27 lawmakers, who have forfeited their seats, arising from their cross-carpeting to another party.

“The INC, therefore, advise strongly, the Ohaneze to concentrate on how to resolve their internal crisis within its Organisation and leave the politics of Rivers State.

“The INC ponders with keen concern the recent interest the Ohaneze Ndigbo has developed in Rivers State.

“The INC will continue to stand with His Excellency Similaiye Fubura, the Executive Governor of Rivers State,”the statement quoted Oyakemeagbegha as saying.
