Rivers: $100m bribery scam rocks NDDC, INEC

Did President Goodluck Jonathan force the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, to post his relation, Mrs. Gesila Khan, to Rivers State as the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) to manipulate the March 28 and April 11 general elections in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)?
What is the involvement of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in the alleged plot to manipulate results of the polls in the South-South state?
Who gave the NDDC Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Dr. Henry Ogiri, the order to work closely with Mrs. Khan to ensure that Jonathan wins on March 28 while the PDP governorship candidate, Chief Nyesom Wike, wins on April 11?
Is it true that $100 million has been set aside to be deposited into the account of Mrs. Khan before the end of the week?
Is it also true that Ogiri purchased a new Toyota Prado Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) for Mrs. Gesila Khan and the SUV is currently parked in her house in Ogbia, Bayelsa State?
These are some of the questions on the lips of residents of Rivers State when the state All Progressives Congress (APC) made the revelations on Wednesday.
The state APC alerted the public, in statement by the Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, on efforts being made by Jonathan and the PDP to manipulate results of the elections.
Ikanya said: “Acting according to the script, Dr Ogiri has purchased a brand new Prado Jeep for Mrs. Gesila Khan and the Jeep is currently parked at the village of Mrs. Khan in Ogbia, Bayelsa State. In addition, Dr Ogiri has set aside a whopping sum of $100 million to be deposited into the account of Mrs. Khan before the week runs off.
“To perfect the plans of winning Rivers State at all costs, Mrs. Khan, who is from President Jonathan’s village and his very close relation, was deliberately posted to Rivers recently to ensure that PDP wins the state, despite having been overwhelmingly rejected by our people. For INEC to post President Jonathan’s kinswoman to supervise the elections in Rivers State, which he has personally confessed neglecting deliberately in his six years in office, simply betrays the Presidency’s desperation to rig the elections as PDP can never win any free and fair polls in Rivers State.”
Ikanya said that the strategy of compromising INEC to pave the way for the use of the allegedly missing 14,000 PVCs and PDP’s cloned cards was coming after PDP failed to wear down Rivers APC through the killing and detaining of several of its members.
“We will like the security organs to investigate this woman and retrieve this car and expose Dr Ogiri for what he is. This is a man who has failed to pay NDDC staff for months and has also failed to pay contractors for services rendered to the commission, while funds are reserved for use in rigging the 2015 elections for PDP,” Ikanya said.
He also appealed to Jega, “who means well for this country with all his innovative ideas designed to stop rigging in our electoral system, to closely monitor the activities of the Rivers REC before she rubbishes all that the electoral umpire has perfected to conduct a free and fair election in the country.”
He urged Jonathan and Wike to play the game according to the rules and stop overheating the polity by adopting untoward ploys through their desperation to ‘capture’ Rivers at all cost.
“PDP has pocketed the police in the state who are ready to do her bidding by arresting the APC leaders indiscriminately. To attempt to buy over the INEC simply demonstrates that Rivers State will be in total mess if Chief Wike succeeds in his bid to capture Rivers, instead of allowing the people of Rivers State to elect their governor and leaders in the March 28 and April 11 elections,” he said.

    Dear professor Attahiru Jega,

    RE: MARCH
    28, 2015 AND APRIL 11, 2015 ELECTIONS IN NIGERIA

Sir, you have been able to conscientiously set yourself in
favour of the Nature and Nature, itself, has, in her own rare magnanimity, paid
you back by transforming you on the path of useful service to the Nigeria Nation.
Therefore, the responsibility over your shoulders is, but herculean, more so that
you have sacrificed a lot to making this great assignment a monumental success.

However, these facts have strongly agglutinated your name
with the ongoing national responsibility which commands divergent interests,
genuine and otherwise, both within and without Nigeria. Hence, successful
completion of this national project will surely create a lasting impression in
the minds of the already fidgeting and yearning Nigerians, crystallize an indelible
mark on the sand of history and write your name in real gold before the peoples
    of the world.

Nevertheless, the news that currently pervades every nook
and cranny of Nigeria (in view of the present “dollarization”of campaign
strategies by politicians, most especially from the ruling party) is the
vigorous but desperate attempt by politicians (in whose custody public funds is
entrusted) to buy over the entire electoral body, especially the resident
commissioners so as to manipulate the post voting process and announce fake
results unduly favouring these unscrupulous politicians at the detriment of our
national values, nascent democracy, social respect and political decorum.

Be that as it may, a very potent strategy for INEC at this
sensitive credibility juncture is to ensure that the Chairman, all Resident
Electoral Commissioners and relevant high ranking officials solemnly swear with
our religious books, i.e. Holy Qur’an and Holy Bible, as the case may be – never
to unduly alter or allow to be unduly altered any part of the electoral and/or
voting process till the announcement of the true results and eventual swearing
in of the truly president (and other officers) elect. INEC is legally and lawfully empowered to do this
as it includes part and parcel of the several steps to ensuring free, fair and
credible elections which will eventually command general acceptability in the
face of these tenable fears of millions of Nigerians.

Good name is far better than gold and silver combined!

May God bless you as He blesses Nigeria and Nigerians!!

Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!
