Rescue workers have recovered four more people from the Eternity C cargo ship sunk by the Houthi militia in the Red Sea, the European Union’s Operation Aspides reported on Thursday.
Three crew members from the Philippines and one Greek national from the maritime security team were rescued from the Liberian-flagged bulk carrier, bringing the total number of people rescued to 10.
An Aspides spokesman said on X that 15 crew members were still missing.
A private company was conducting the rescue operation, the report said.
The Eternity C had 22 crew members on board, most of them from the Philippines, and three security personnel.
The Greece-based Aspides did not provide details on those abducted or killed.
The Houthi militia, which controls large parts of Yemen, has been attacking Red Sea shipping since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, targeting ships it sees as linked to Israel.
Its stated aim is to support the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas.
