“The security situation in Nigeria calls for urgent prayers from all well meaning Nigerians, especially during this month of Ramadan.

“There is nothing that threatens the corporate existence of Nigeria at this point in our nationhood more than the insecurity challenges and state of the economy which seems to have impoverished millions of citizens.

“Of course, there is a global economic downtown which also has affected Nigeria, but when this is added to the security situation in the country, this portends a great danger to our corporate existence as a nation”

In his Ramadan message to the Muslim Umah, former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, urged Nigerians of all faiths to come together in supplication to the Almighty Allah Subuanah Taa la for respite.

“It is not by sheer coincidence that the Lenten period which serves as point of penitence by Christians as well as the Ramadan fasting month which signifies self denials and humility by Muslims are happening simultaneously. These are signs that God is done and ready to listen to the prayers of faithfuls”.

The former Governor, therefore, enjoined all leaders of faith to come together in penitence and utmost humility to ask God to heal our nation. He maintained that both economic and challenges are related because unemployment is a great causative factor of violent crimes.

“As we approach the 2023 elections, we need to raise our voices together to ask God for a way out. While calling on our Muslim brothers to use the opportunity of the Ramadan to ask God for unity and direction towards strengthening our living together.
