The Proprietor of Future Stars Nursery/ Primary School, Ilorin, Mr Godwin Oluwole, has advocated the need for free Information Communication Technology (ICT) training for teachers in the country.

Oluwole made the call in Ilorin on Friday.

He said that ICT knowledge is important for teachers in the country.

According to him, there is need for teachers to upgrade in order to discharge their duty effectively.

“Government at all levels should organize free ICT training for teachers.

“Every teacher should be technologically equipped.

“No teacher should be left out.

“ICT knowledge will bring out the best in teachers and revive the education system in the country.

“The world is a global village.

“Equip teachers and witness a significant turning point in education system in the country,” he said.

The educationist, however, called on members of the public and Non-
Governmental Organizations to focus and invest on education and not leave everything for government.

He further said that education is everybody’s business and should not be left with government alone.

Oluwole also advised teachers to add value to themselves and not necessarily wait for the government and their employers to do everything for them.

“You are the mirror that the public love to spy at and you must reflect positively,” he said.
