Popoola

A leading national prophet, A/Prof Tayo Popoola, has called for an immediate ceasefire between the two prominent royal fathers in Yorubaland, the OONI of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi and the ALAAFIN of Oyo, Oba Owoade, describing the feud between the two eminent royal fathers as divisive that could be exploited by the devil to further divide Yorubaland.

Prophet Popoola stated that if there are other bodies or institutions in Yorubaland that are higher than the thrones of the two royal fathers, he would have suggested that they should wade into the crisis.

Ooni and Alaafin

While urging the two royal fathers to respect the culture and traditions of Yoruba nation, he similarly reminded them about the word of God which urged us not to be ignorant of the devices of the devil.
He, therefore, pleaded with them to allow peace to reign in the entire Yoruba nation.

His words: “Frankly speaking, we cannot afford anything that could divide us. Unity and oneness of Yorubaland is bigger than any individual interest. They should therefore cease words of words and criticism upon criticism of one another”; he added.

The cleric enjoined the press not to escalate the crisis.
