President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the first set of appointments into his administration with Mr Femi Adesina and Malam Garba Shehu as his spokesmen.
A statement in Abuja on Sunday by the President’s head of media team, Malam Garba Shehu, said Adesina will serve as Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) while Shehu will be the new Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity).
Adesina will replace Dr. Reuben Abati who served former President Goodluck Jonathan in that capacity.
According to the statement, the President has also approved the appointment of Malam Lawal Abdullahi Kazaure as the State Chief of Protocol (SCOP).
Adesina is the current President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and serves as the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of The Sun newspapers.
Shehu served as the Director, Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.
He was onetime President of NGE, about 16 years ago.
Kazaure is a career Foreign Service official and currently serves in Aso Rock Villa as a Special Assistant (Presidential Matters).
