A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and former DG of the Lagos State Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Dr Seye O’Dairo, has cried out that his life and family are being threatened by unknown individuals who he believes are powerful forces who are after his life and family.
He said the threat has been consistent from trailing him and his family and calls of threat from unknown number. “Its frightening most especially to my immediate family”.
Dr. Seye O’Dairo, as one of the opposition leaders in Lagos State and one of the voices of the common man, has consistently spoken truth to power and the ruling party in the country at different fora.
He said he believes those after his life and family “are powerful people within the country’s political system because they boasted they have all the security forces and paraphernalia on their side as the party in power and there was nothing I can do about it”.
He stated that the recent threat might not be connected to some of his recent statements in the media about the appointment of an INEC Chairman and recommendations he gave to the executive arm of government “as we go into the 2027 general elections. This and other economic and political comments over the years are some of the reasons they said they want to silence him and his family members as expressed by the caller.
He, however, did not mention any names or the offices of those he suspected were behind his ordeal because they concealed their identity but it has created severe fear for his immediate family lives, knowing the state of insecurity in the country.
