Police in custody of two children found wandering in Enugu

Enugu State Police Command has announced the founding of two female children (suspected to be siblings),wandering and crying along Okpara Avenue, Enugu .

In a statement on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Police Command, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, urged anyone who can identify or assist the Police to locate and reunite the children with their family to visit Central Police Station (CPS) Enugu or call 08068820580.

The statement reads in full:

ENUGU STATE POLICE COMMAND BULLETIN OF 7TH FEBRUARY, 2022

FOUND CHILDREN

The general public, particularly residents of Enugu State, are hereby informed that a Good Samaritan brought to Central Police Station (CPS) Enugu, two (2) female children of about 6 and 3 years respectively, who were found wandering and crying along Okpara Avenue, Enugu.

2. The children, who are suspected to be siblings, gave their names as Amanda and Chioma (surnames unknown) respectively; while Amanda, the older of them, mentioned the name of their mother as Ifunnaya, who sells food.

3. Meanwhile, all efforts so far made to locate the parents or relatives of the children for identification and claim, have proved abortive. Hence, anyone who can identify or assist the Police to locate and reunite the children with their family is hereby enjoined to visit Central Police Station (CPS) Enugu or call 08068820580.

4. Kindly disseminate widely alongside the attached pictures of the children, please.
