Umar_MankoThe police in Lagos on Tuesday said they had detained a man who allegedly exhumed the bodies of four of his relations and cut off their heads which he sold at N8,000 each to pay his children’s school fees.

Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Ngozi Braide, told newsmen that the man and four others were arrested by the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).

She said they were rounded up at their hideout in the Owode area of Ogun, while trying to sell the human parts.

Braide alleged that the suspect, who exhumed the bodies, carried out the act at the site where they were buried behind their residence at Owode.

The spokesperson said that the heads of two male and two female relatives were sold to a local spiritualist.

Braide said that the 40-year old man confessed that it was one of his friends, who advised him to exhume the bodies and sell their parts to raise money for his children’s school fees.

She said that the suspect was initially paid N16,000 for the first two heads and was later given an additional N16,000 for the other two.

Braide said that the suspects would soon be charged to court.
