Police corporal kills colleague in Adamawa

A regular policeman, Corporal Bala Adamu, on Tuesday, shot dead a Mobile Policeman, Sergeant Emmanuel Timothy, who was on Special Assignment in Madagali town of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Confirming the incident to newsmen in Yola on Wednesday, the Spokesman of the Police Command in the state, SP Othman Abubakar, said the incident occurred following “a minor misunderstanding” around 10. 45 a.m. at the Madagali Police Division.
“The deceased, Timothy from 13 Squadron, Makurdi, Benue, was among those deployed to Adamawa on special assignment,” Abubakar said.
Abubakar, who did not give reason for the misunderstanding, said Adamu had been disarmed and arrested, while the matter had been transferred to the command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for investigation.
