The Plateau State Government has imposed a 48-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) following a deadly attack in the Angwan Rukuba community.

The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joyce Ramnap in an official statement issued in Jos.

According to the government, the curfew was introduced in collaboration with security agencies to restore order after the violent incident that resulted in casualties and injuries.

Ramnap stated that the restriction took effect from midnight on Sunday, March 29 , and will remain in place until Wednesday, April 1

She condemned the attack, describing it as unjustified and directed at innocent residents.

The commissioner urged members of the public to remain calm, comply with the directive, and cooperate with security personnel.

She also assured residents that authorities are taking steps to prevent further violence and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

Security agencies have since intensified operations in the affected areas to maintain peace and stability.

The curfew is part of broader efforts by the state government to contain tensions and safeguard lives and property in Jos North and surrounding communities.
