Kano Pillars coach, Baba Ganaru, has summarily disclosed the truth behind the controversy trailing the true status of Super Eagles home-based striker, Mohammed Gambo who was said to have signed a deal with Tunisian club side, Club Africain.
The coach’s statement that the club would feel the absence of the striker who has now moved to Club Africain in Tunisia confirmed the fact that he has signed a professional contract which ruled him out of the qualifiers for the CHAN Championship.
Contrary to the coach’s statement, Gambo told the Super Eagles chief coach, Stephen Keshi that he is yet to finnalise a deal with the Tunisian club and he would gladly be eligible for the second cracker against the Elephants of Cote dÍvoire.
Ganaru said that the team will surely feel the absence of Mohammed Gambo who has moved to Tunisian side Club Africain.
Gambo recently signed the contract papers with the Tunisian side and will move to join his new club in the coming days.
Ganaru said that the home-based Super Eagles forward is an influential player in the team and played his part in the success of the team last season when they won the League title.
“I want to say that we are going to miss him because he is one player that can be relied on at any time. The players respect him a lot and he has a way of carrying them along in all matches,” said Ganaru.
“We cannot hold him down not to travel out, but we are happy because he contributed his quota to the success of the team.
“Gambo is reliable and has the interest of the club at heart. My happiness is that he was able to impact on the young and new players in the team on how to behave at all times.
“We will miss him, but we are sure he will be a good ambassador of the team in Tunisia. We are getting used to not having him around and we also want to win the League trophy for him,” Ganaru said.
