The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has restated its unshakable faith in a united, secure, and prosperous Nigeria—pledging to strengthen inter-state collaboration, deepen policy coordination, and sustain the progressive ideals driving the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
This renewed commitment came at the end of the Forum’s strategic meeting held in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, from 16th to 17th October 2025, where APC Governors reviewed the state of the nation and charted new pathways for inclusive governance, stability, and development.

Driving Collective Security and National Stability

Acknowledging the steady improvement in national security coordination, the Forum commended ongoing reforms that have enhanced synergy between federal, state, and local security structures. The Governors praised the Federal Government’s renewed investments in intelligence, technology, and personnel welfare, describing them as vital steps toward a safer and more resilient nation.

The PGF reaffirmed its support for community policing, intelligence-led security operations, and greater state participation in peacebuilding efforts. The Governors extended their condolences to citizens affected by insecurity and pledged sustained solidarity with victims while reaffirming their commitment to peaceful coexistence across the federation.

“The progress in national security management under the Renewed Hope Agenda is evident, and we are determined to strengthen these gains through local partnership, vigilance, and collective action,” the Forum stated.

Fiscal Integrity and Investment Expansion

The Governors noted the growing investor confidence in state economies, crediting it to strengthened fiscal transparency, the deployment of digital procurement systems, and reforms that enhance financial accountability. The PGF pledged to sustain fiscal discipline, diversify state economies, and expand infrastructure investment through innovative public-private partnerships.

The Forum observed that the increase in federal allocations, combined with the repayment of outstanding legacy debts, has further empowered states to drive development and social programmes. This, it noted, aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s focus on fiscal responsibility, inclusive prosperity, and economic resilience.

Inclusive Growth and the Ward-Based Development Model

The PGF hailed the Renewed Hope Ward-Based Development Programme as a breakthrough in Nigeria’s governance framework—one that aligns federal, state, and local efforts to deliver development directly to citizens across all 8,809 wards. The Governors commended President Tinubu’s foresight in creating a structure that promotes cooperative federalism and participatory governance, ensuring that no community is left behind.

They called on the Federal Ministry of Budget and Planning and the National Steering Committee to ensure swift and transparent implementation, promising full collaboration from all APC-led states.

Renewed Hope for a Trillion-Dollar Future

In reaffirming their confidence in Nigeria’s economic trajectory, the Governors endorsed the ongoing development of the Renewed Hope Plan (2026–2030), which envisions a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2030. They lauded its bottom-up planning framework that draws inputs from wards, local governments, and states before national integration—describing it as a model for inclusive and sustainable growth.

The PGF pledged to continue investing in food security, MSME development, youth entrepreneurship, and digital transformation to ensure that every Nigerian benefits from the economic reforms of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Progressive Vision and Shared Future

The Forum concluded by reaffirming its collective loyalty to the leadership of President Tinubu and the ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC). It declared that the Renewed Hope Agenda has become a living social contract between government and citizens, promising stability, justice, and shared prosperity for all.

Signed by the PGF Chairman, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, the communiqué underscored the Forum’s shared determination to continue building a Nigeria that works for everyone—where governance is people-centered, growth is inclusive, and progress is sustainable.

“The Progressive Governors Forum stands united as a beacon of stability and purpose,” the statement concluded, “driving a collective vision of Renewed Hope for every community and every Nigerian”.
