A group, Peter Obi Movement in Diaspora and Naija (POMDAN), has said that Mr Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), will revive the economy and ensure food security in Nigeria if elected in 2023.

Mr Emmanuel Ameh, the Convener of the movement, stated this at a ”Food Bank” it organized on Thursday in Jos.

Amen said that Obi had demonstrated the capacity to fighting insecurity to enable farmers go to their farms and produce enough food that would feed the nation and export purposes.

He explained that the antecedents of Obi as governor of Anambra State had indicated that he has the intellectual propensity to move this nation from a consumption to production economy.

He added that such a move would naturally address the challenge of unemployment, poverty, and promote human capital development.

”There is no mincing words about this, because Peter Obi has a robust productivity plan for this nation.

”He has the capacity to move this nation from a consumption to production economy. He did it in Anambra and he can do it as president of Nigeria.

”He will fight insecurity, banditry, kidnapping, and that will enable our farmers go to farm without fear of being attacked and produce enough food for us and others.

”As we speak, food insecurity in Nigeria looms, and this is because enemies of our land don’t allow farmers to farm and if nothing is urgently done we will be in deep troubles,” he said.

Amen explained that he organized food bank to sensitize Plateau residents and Nigerians on the need to support and vote Obi in 2023.

”As a Philanthropist I have over the years donated food to widows and orphans, I decided to incorporate the food aspect to this gathering because we can’t gather people and not give them refreshments.

”We made arrangements to feed 5,000 persons, but from the look of things we have more than that number here.

”But the aim of this event is to sensitize Nigerians that Peter Obi has the solution to many challenges currently facing this nation,” he said.

On his part, Mr Pamson Dagyat, the National Coordinator, Support Groups for Obi in Nigeria, said that the gathering aimed at canvassing support for Obi.

He maintained that Obi would turn around the fortunes of this nation, adding that he would bring his wealth of experience to bear.

”Most Nigerians yearn for a better society; a society where everybody is safe, a functional economy and educational system, a society with good roads, functional rail lines

”A society where the child of a nobody can become somebody, a society where justice, fairness and equity are practiced.

”And Peter Obi has demonstrated his willingness and readiness to give Nigerians the society of their dream if elected in 2023,” he said.

He called on Nigerians to massively vote for Obi in the forthcoming general polls.
