Maverick entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as CharlyBoy, has celebrated Peter Obi on his 65th birthday.
Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Party, marked the milestone on Sunday.
CharlyBoy sent his goodwill message through a series of posts on his X page, formerly known as Twitter.
In the posts, the activist prayed for Obi to receive more strength, courage and resilience as he continues to speak on national issues.
He praised the former Anambra State governor for maintaining his commitment to Nigeria in spite of criticism, attacks and distractions.
CharlyBoy said Nigeria still needed fearless voices willing to speak truth to power.
He also described Obi as a source of hope to many young Nigerians who believe the country can still be rebuilt.
According to him, Obi has inspired millions of citizens to believe that a better Nigeria remains possible through sacrifice, courage and responsible leadership.
The entertainer said giving people hope in a country where many have lost confidence in leadership was not a small achievement.
CharlyBoy’s message added to the birthday tributes sent to Obi by supporters, political allies and admirers across the country.
In another development, CharlyBoy had earlier announced plans to release his memoir titled “999.”
He described the book as a detailed account of his life, experiences and personal journey.
The public presentation of the memoir is scheduled to hold on July 31 in Lagos.
The book features a foreword by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
As part of efforts to promote the memoir internationally, digital billboards at New York Times Square in the United States recently displayed the project.
