There was blood letting at the weekend in Niger State.
Bandits on the rampage killed Ahmodu Mohammed, a ward leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kampala Village, Bosso Local Government Area.
His three daughters were also abducted.
Attempts had been made to kill Mohammed before he was finally shot dead.
Freedom Online learned that Mohammed was killed after two hours of intense battle with the bandits.

“This was the third time the bandits had attacked him. They didn’t succeed in the first two attacks because the man was very powerful. The bandits came fully armed. It is possible some of them were killed before they finally got Mohammed. This is indeed unfortunate. Government should do something about these bandits,” a source said.

The rampaging bandits also killed some residents of Kusasu, Shiroro Local Government on Friday night.
Houses of those who escaped were set ablaze.
Those killed in Kusasu were said to have fled the attack and hid in the bush but were traced by the bandits and shot dead.
One of the villagers disclosed that a man said to be the driver of the bandits was arrested by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Shiroro on Friday.
