PDP commends Ugwuanyi on leadership style as party flags off LG election campaign

Members  of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Enugu State  chapter,  have commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi  for entrenching  participatory democracy, peace and good governance in  the state.   

The commendation was given by the Senator representing Enugu North zone,  Chuka Utazi,   the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo, and other PDP stalwarts  during the  party’s  flag-off of the Chairmanship Campaign in Ikem, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, in preparation of the February 29 local council elections in the state.

Utazi, while speaking on behalf of  other members of the National Assembly from the state, commended Ugwuanyi for his desire for qualitative  leadership  in the state. He described the governor as a humble, visionary, hardworking and popular leader.
Utazi pledged  the support of  the members of the National Assembly from the state to Ugwuanyi and to the party. 

The senator, who was with the member representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency, Prince Cornelius Nnaji and his counterpart from Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency, Simon Atigwe, said that Ugwuanyi’s  all-inclusive leadership style and the ability to give everybody a sense of belonging are exceptional, revealing that “our people are very happy with your administration”.  

He urged the people of the state to come out en masse, on February 29, and vote for the PDP and its chairmanship and councillorship candidates in all the 17 LGAs and 260 electoral wards respectively.

Speaking, the State Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Alex Ogbonna, who led a delegation of the organisation to the even, lauded the good governance of governor Ugwuanyi in the state.

He said that his penchant for peace and deep commitment to participatory democracy through wider consultation and consensus building, were responsible for the existing peace and security in the state.

Ogbonna, who described Ugwuanyi  as a rare leader who does not segregate or hold grudges against anybody, pointed out that the uncommon leadership style of Ugwuanyi  also ensured the peace that exists in the State Assembly.
He called on residents of the state to support Ugwuanyi ‘s administration.  

 Speaker,  Enugu State House of Assembly,  Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi, while speaking on behalf of the Assembly members,  commended Ugwuanyi for inclusive governance and commitment to peace and delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of the state, in spite of the nation’s economic challenges.
 
He commended  the leadership of the party for the mobilization and huge turnout of party members and supporters at the rally, stating that the governor’s good works and uncommon leadership style will ensure victory for the party.   

Ubochi said  that the participatory democracy entrenched by the governor was responsible for the caliber of persons who emerged as candidates of the party in the 17 local government areas of the state, stating that “they are the choice of the people”.

In a goodwill message, Dr. Egumgbe, who spoke on behalf of former state chairmen of the PDP said that there is peace in the PDP in Enugu State  and the party is very much intact and our governor made it possible.

He added that “he , Ugwuanyi makes sure that those who worked for the party are rewarded”, saying: “the crowd here is because of the governor’s leadership style”.

Ugwuanyi, in his speech, thanked  party members and supporters and the people of the state for their solidarity, goodwill, prayers and support and urged them to vote for PDP candidates in the forthcoming LG elections.

PDP state chairman, Hon. Augustine Nnamani, in a speech before presenting the flag to  the party’s  chairmanship candidates and their deputies,
 said  that the party is alive in the state because of the remarkable achievements of the governor, who he said has kept faith with his campaign promises.
He urged the electorate to “vote for PDP all the way”.

Earlier in his welcome address,   the transition committee chairman of Isiguzo local government  area, Emma Ugwu, thanked Ugwuanyi for his good governance in the state and for appointing him and his colleagues  as transition committee chairmen. He said  that they were able to rehabilitate and  ashphalt some roads in their local government areas. He added that they  were able to pay salaries promptly.
