Patience Jonathan, Nigeria’s worst First Lady, says APC chief

From Bode Durojaiye, Oyo.

Pioneer Chairman of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), now the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Oyo State, Pa Samuel Adedokun Farinu, has described Dame Patience Jonathan as Nigeria’s worst First Lady.
He advised the President’s wife to first seek repentance before God and forgiveness of all offended souls in the country through her acts of vulgarities, irresponsible and shameful public utterances.
This, Farinu said, would enable her toe the path of
disciplined and cultured women who had occupied similar positions, but whose inspiring antecedents and precedents enrolled them into the global Hall of Fame.
Speaking in Oyo town, the septuagenarian stated that virtually all Nigerian leaders have been disparaged at one time or the other but their spouses never replied.
“There had been attacks in the past on former Presidents Ibrahim Babangida, Chief Ernest Shonekan, the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha and others over the June 12 crisis. None of their wives ever hit back at the critics, no matter the degree of provocation. In fact, they acted perfectly normal and even tried to build bridges of friendship instead of bombing the castle. Can you imagine this First Lady saying publicly that all those shouting ‘change’ should be stoned? She further went astray by insensitively and
inconsiderately saying that Northerners are fond of bearing
children with reckless abandon and throwing them on the streets to fend for themselves. What an affront. This wasn’t very nice or tactful.’’
Farinu further explained that “the last straw was when she declared matter-of-factly that her husband’s main challenger, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, should not be voted in because he is “brain dead”. What an inelegant language to be used by any lady, not to mention the First Lady and certainly not about a former Head of State of the same country that her husband is governing and from whose citizens she is
seeking a second term in office”.
Farinu warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to ‘seriously weigh the dire consequences’ of its alleged diabolical and heinous plans against the national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in order not to conflagrate the country.
“The nation is living under the threat and incidents of individual’s murders as things have degenerated to a scenario of mass murders. There is a general consensus that security of lives and property in the country has abysmally declined
and has come to its lowest ebb. Even high profile crimes have not only been successfully perpetrated without prevention, but they have also largely gone unresolved and unpunished.”
