Kenya Airways has confirmed the death of a passenger on board a flight from Nairobi to Lagos shortly before the aircraft landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.

This is contained in a statement posted on the airline’s ‘X’ account, by its Corporate Communications team on Wednesday.

Kenya Airways said the incident occurred about 9.20 p.m., on Tuesday, when the passenger was found unresponsive about 20 minutes before the aircraft landed in Lagos.

The airline said its crew administered first aid in line with their training and followed established emergency procedures.

According to airline, the aircraft landed at the MMIA at 9.41 p.m., where it was met by medical personnel.

The medical personnel subsequently confirmed that the passenger had died.

“Kenya Airways is providing the necessary support in close coordination with the deceased’s family, local authorities, and aviation regulators,” the airline said.

The airline expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, while respecting the privacy and dignity of those involved.
