After Tuesday’s State Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State that produced Iyiola Oyedepo as chairman, another executive has emerged with Mr Sunday Fagbemi as factional chairman.
Fagbemi addressed journalists in Ilorin on Thursday where he unveiled the list of his executives.
He faulted the procedures used at Tuesday’s state PDP congress which returned all the 31 executive members unopposed.
Fagbemi alleged that nomination forms for ward congresses, which should be the start-point to higher conventions were denied “loyal and committed members.’’
He claimed that it was only members of the Iyiola-led executive that were given nomination forms, compelling their re-election.
Fagbemi claimed that elders, panel members and other stakeholders moved to another location at Bekandims Hotel for another congress.

He claimed he emerged chairman at that congress while Isiaka Alao was elected his secretary under the watch of five of the seven election panel members who supervised and endorsed the exercise.

Other executive members of their faction included Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar, Deputy Chairman; Saka Ajao, Assistant Secretary, Central; Sulaiman Dansiko, ; Assistant Secretary North; as well as Agboola Adewumi, Assistant Secretary, South.

Gabriel Olatunji became Treasurer while Olu Abogunrin, Alhaji Atanda Alaya, Alhaji Duba Leramo, were named Vice Chairmen, North, South and Central respectively, along with 21 others.
A PDP congress was held on Tuesday at Stella Obasanjo Hall, Ilorin, where Oyedepo and 30 others were returned unopposed.
Shortly before the commencement of voting at the venue, Fagbemi had announced his withdrawal from the race and later left the premises with his supporters.
The Chairman of the Delegate Congress Committee, Chief Niyi Oyeleye, led four others from the national headquarters of the party to conduct the election.
After the exit of Fagbemi and his supporters from the race, other contestants for the various positions were returned unopposed.

Tuesday’s congress at the Stella Obasanjo Hall was also witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kwara led by the Administrative Secretary, Mr Christian Nwosu.
