A former Zamfara Governor, Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari (APC/Zamfara West), has donated 145 trailer loads of maize as palliative to people of the state.

A former APC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Lawal Liman, stated this in Gusau on Sunday after meeting with members of the distribution committee.

Liman, who is the chairman of the 25-member distribution committee, said that a total of 145 trucks of maize were ready distribution across the 14 local government areas of the state

He said that the beneficiaries would include vulnerable households, the needy, widows and orphans, irrespective of their political affiliations.

“The distribution exercise of the palliatives is scheduled to commence concurrently across the 147 wards of the state on Tuesday.

“Each local government is allocated with 10 trucks of maize for the 12,000 beneficiaries captured during the enumeration conducted by local government and ward committees, while Gusau local government has additional five trucks, making 17 trucks of maize,” he said.

Liman urged members of the committee to ensure transparency in the distribution of the item.

He also called on the beneficiaries to continue to pray for the donor and for prevailing peace and harmony in the state and Nigeria at large.
